What is it to be more fully present? A practice for reawakening our original nature.

It's through our senses that we experience life, and it is through our senses that we can reawaken to a fuller and more authentic way of being.

Sensory Awareness helps us revive our capacity to be more fully in the here-and-now, to experience and embody more deeply the living somatic realities of life: gravity, breathing, balance, energy, touch, movement, and more. While following deceptively simple sensory experiments, habitual thoughts and tensions melt into the background as we become more mindfully grounded in the present. Through such practice we can become more awake and alive in what we do and rediscover truer authenticity and greater natural ease in everything that we do.

This study provides a valuable enhancement to meditation and mindfulness practices, stress reduction, psychotherapy, yoga, creative expression, massage, as well as to life itself.

Originally developed in Europe and later brought to the U.S. and further developed by Charlotte Selver, the legacy of this work lives on through the educational materials and projects of the Sensory Awareness Foundation and through the many approved teachers of the Sensory Awareness Leaders’ Guild worldwide.

“Sensing is getting more in touch with oneself, with others, and with the world. We are offering to you a work which, in its very character, somehow embraces our possibility of getting in touch with whatever we do or whomever we meet – and going as deeply as possible into this coming-in-contact-with-what–we-do.”

"When you permit a pure heart and don't reproach yourself in any way, then you can learn through sensing."
